1 Are remote engineers qualified to work on engineering projects?

We ensure that all of our registered engineering staff possesses a valid university degree in Mechanical Engineering preferably from reputed colleges. Apart from the formal education, trainings provided by our experienced staff and working experience in Industry makes our Engineers suitable to work remotely.

2 Are remote engineers experienced and possess the required skills?

Depending upon customer requirements, we have Team Groups defined by the criteria of experience and competency levels at Mechanical Sourcing. In order to have the customer experience the remote engineer concept, we provide a trial period up to 2 weeks to test your remote engineer.

3 Where do remote engineers operate from?

All of our remote engineers are engineers plus entrepreneurs. We help them to have the best of the both worlds by giving them option of "working from home" or at our office. For remote engineers who are "Working from Home", they have to report the time sheets weekly to us. We review the monthly performance in monthly meetings. Thanks to the growth of internet network in India, all our remote engineers possess a high speed internet connectivity and a good workstation for CAD.

4 How data confidentiality is guaranteed?

Our concept of remote engineer is based on VPN/remote desktop technology. This ensures that the engineers are not downloading the data on their local systems. Mechanical Sourcing ensures data confidentiality by the remote engineer through signing a three party Non-Disclosure Agreement with the customer.

5 How will I get charged and invoiced?

You will be charged monthly on the basis of pricing defined in contract. All invoices are to be paid in favour of Mechanical Sourcing.

6 How will the quality of output sustained?

After the trial period, we will train the remote engineer according to your feedback. Once we have a contract, the remote engineers' performance will be closely monitored by our Customer Success Manager by constantly seeking your feedback (usually every 2 weeks)

7 Are remote engineers good at communication skills?

All engineers at Mechanical Sourcing possess very good communication skills and a good level of command over English language. From time to time, we help them update/upgrade their soft skills

8 Will my existing engineers see remote engineers as threat to their jobs?

Remote engineers can support for all the tasks such as Design, CAD, Drawings, and Detailing etc. But they will need inputs and supports from your experienced in-house engineers. It is very important to have a clear communication with your internal team that remote engineers are to help them invent new products by taking their routine activities. Mechanical Sourcing understands the importance of good culture and will be actively conducting sessions to encourage a good team spirit between your permanent engineers and remote engineers.

9 How many hours per month will remote engineers work?

A remote engineer usually works 176 hours per month. However, depending upon the workload requirements and mutual agreements, they are open and flexible for more working hours.

10 Why is it important to have remote engineers?

Remote engineer or team of remote engineers compliments your in-house permanent engineering staff. As not all activities of the Engineering department are urgent and important, you can re-organize your tasks and plan distributing to remote engineers. Mechanical Sourcing also helps to apply the Eisenhower matrix selection process for Engineering Staff

11 How do I know about remote engineers' productivity?

Mechanical Sourcing will continuously monitor the engineer productivity via sophisticated tools for productive time measurements and report it to you from time to time. With every improvement point, there will be an action plan which will be tracked stringently.
